The St. Louis Anti-Violence Project is dedicated to increasing awareness of relational violence to and within LGBTQIA+ communities. The organization does this through education, advocacy, and outreach.
Advocate and Awareness Trainings
STLAVP provides three opportunities for agencies or employees to participate in trainings. Sign up for our newsletters to receive information on upcoming events.
- Regularly scheduled trainings building awareness of relational and sexual violence in LGBTQIA+ communities as well as developing knowledge of foundational terminology.
- Special trainings presented by STLAVP and other guest speakers covering a variety of topics.
- Organizational trainings including topics such as, but not limited to, LGBTQIA+ terminology, current statistics related to relational and sexual violence of the LGBTQIA+ community, and various strategies organizations can take to create inclusivity.
LGBTQIA+ Anti-Violence Training and Technical Assistance (LATTA)
- Assessment includes reviewing several components of an organization such as, but not limited to, policies and procedures, marketing, and staff training.
- Intervention builds on the assessment and allows us to create a customized growth plan for the organization.
- The evaluation phase ensures that the agency has met the recommendations and is eligible for certification.
LGBTQIA+ Anti-Violence Employee Support Group
A support group of fellow LGBTQIA+
individuals working in anti-violence
agencies that meet virtually monthly
on the first Monday.
