At
St. Louis Anti-Violence Project initially started as a task force dedicated to ending violence. Our history is rooted in collaboration, partnership, and learning!
Below are just a few of our partners! From agencies who have gone through our certification process to funders who are committed to the work, we seek to find ways to further our mission to raising awareness of relational and sexual violence within and to the LGBTQIA+ community through training and outreach.
ALIVE’s mission is to provide counseling, emergency sanctuary and other critical services to adults and children impacted by domestic abuse, as well as to increase awareness in order to create a supportive community. Professional staff and trained volunteers provide immediate assistance to victims of family violence 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. ALIVE crisis intervention specialists can be reached via telephone or the live chat feature on their website.
St. Louis Queer Support & Healing (SQSH) is a community-based, grassroots non-profit focused on providing spaces and support for queer St. Louisans to lead fulfilling lives. The Peer Support Helpline provides free, confidential, and identity-affirming emotional support and resource referrals for LGBTQIA+ individuals, friends, family members, allies, and service providers. Their trained Helpline Volunteers provide short-term peer counseling over-the-phone when you call in.
Missouri Foundation for Health is building a more equitable future through collaboration, convening, knowledge sharing, and strategic investment. Working in partnership with communities and nonprofits, MFH is transforming systems to eliminate inequities within all aspects of health and addressing the social and economic factors that shape health outcomes. The Foundation takes a multifaceted approach to addressing health issues.
“Building partnerships and relationships is central to STLAVP. We must all work together to positively support individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community who have faced violence.”
